CASA.
(Court Appointed Special Advocates)
of Collin County
Every year thousands of Texas children are removed from their homes because of severe abuse, neglect, or domestic violence. CASA of Collin County's mission is to train community volunteers to advocate the best interests of these children while they are in foster care.
Child abuse cases continue to rise at a staggering rate. CASA has served
over 6,500 Children under the jurisdiction of the Collin County District
Courts in its nearly 20 years. Their goal is to ensure that every child
who needs a CASA Advocate has a CASA Advocate. CASA depends on the ongoing
support of the community to accomplish this.

Dignitas
International. AIDS has already claimed more lives than any
other epidemic in human history. In the next 24 hours alone, over 5,700
people will die due to AIDS. In response to this emergency, a group
of international health experts founded Dignitas International, a medical
humanitarian organization dedicated to providing a quality of life
with dignity for children, youth and families affected by HIV/AIDS-related
illness in the developing world.

Jewish
Federation of Greater Dallas. The Westmount Foundation has
customized a charitable plan, Youth Futures, through the Jewish Federation
of Dallas, to aid children-at-risk in Israel who are suffering disproportionately
as
a
result of dislocation, poverty and war–related trauma. Youth Futures
provides intervention with the children’s home, school and community
to tap the welfare resources the children need to reverse the destructive
cycles, enabling them to enjoy a successful future. Trained program
trustees are affecting social, scholastic and emotional development
by directly reaching 232 children and their families in Acco and Mateh
Asher. www.jfgd.org
